Missions

Every fourth Sunday of the month is Missions Sunday! Children collect change from the congregation, and the money goes to these missions organizations supported by FUMC:

Partners in Development – Our monthly sponsorship of Ronalson, a young boy in Haiti, helps him attend school, receive free medical care, food, and clothing. Based in Ipswich, MA, Partners In Development (PID) has been serving the extreme poor in Haiti & Guatemala for over twenty years.

Acord Food Pantry – Non-perishable food items as well as paper goods may be dropped in the shopping cart in the Narthex to be delivered to ACORD Food Pantry, which is located on Willow Street in Hamilton. ACORD provides a valuable service to our community helping those going through difficult financial times. FUMC is the proud founder of this ministry.

Operation Christmas Child – Each year we collect shoe boxes full of small gifts that are distributed to children around the world.

Open Door Food Pantry – On the 2nd Monday of February, April, June, August & December, members of our congregation prepare and serve dinner at the Open Door Food Pantry in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Help is always welcome to prepare, serve, and clean-up. For more information, call the church office at 978-468-1256.

Other Community Missions:

Big-Hearted Books & Clothing – FUMC supports this ministry by having a donation bin on our property.  This bin is for books and clothing to be given to those in need in the community.  Our bin is located at the back corner of our parking lot and donations are always welcome!

Ministering to shut-ins – Members of our church faithfully serve shut-ins in the community by visiting them, providing them with copies of our Sunday sermons, celebrating holidays with them, and bringing poinsettias to them during Christmastime.

Serving one another – The FUMC family believes deeply in the value of community and is faithful in supporting our members through prayer and service.
